Description: A rare, exceptional, large, transparent diamond apophyllite stalactite specimen with exceptional clarity, high quality gemmy apophyllite. Super glassy, gem-like, colorless, apophyllite crystals form a striking and beautiful stalactite from Jalgaon. The gemmy, pyramidal crystals are water-clear to translucent and some are doubly terminated, including the largest compound crystal at 3.8 cm. The crystals project every which way, and this really adds to the visual appeal of this dramatic piece. Complete all-around and shockingly pristine. This is a very fine and uncommon example of stalactitic apophyllite from Jalgaon.
Sawda is a small hamlet located about 4 km south of the small town of Paldi which is in turn about 10 kilometres to the west of Jalgaon. The basalt quarries near this hamlet are where most of the specimens that are labelled "Jalgaon" come from.
