Description: A specimen with classic Blanchard-blue/purple fluorite crystals, translucent, sharp, very gemmy inside and sitting on white quartz crystals matrix. The larger fluorite crystal cubes measure up to .8 cm on edge. Sprinkled over the fluorite crystals are jet-black murdochite and chalcopyrite crystals making it particularly attractive. In very good shape: a minor bruise and micro-dings in a few places that you have to look hard to find. Very aesthetic and colourful specimen.
Please note - this is a difficult specimen to photograph for colour. Fluorite cubes are a deeper purple than portrayed in the photo/video.
The Blanchard Mine is a lead mine located near Bingham, New Mexico. It is currently under claim by private individuals and may also be referred to as the Hansonburg Lead mine and the McCarthy Lead mine.
