Mineral(s): Fluoro-richterite, Calcite
Location: Earle's Farm occurrence, Monmouth Township, Highlands East Township, Haliburton County, Ontario, Canada
Size: 3.6 x 3.3 x 1.1 cm
Description: An attractive, doubly terminated, black fluoro-richterite crystal. The blocky crystal has shiny faces with calcite blebs. This is a superb crystal from the original and no closed locale. This mineral is a rarely crystallized amphibole group mineral and is difficult to find in complete and undamaged crystals.
Crystals were attainable from a carbonatite "vein dike" in gneiss. This locality was removed during road-widening prior to 1986.
