Description: A rich cluster of dozens of very well-formed, transparent to translucent, gemmy, pinkish-red rhodochrosite rhombs from the well-known Uchucchacua Silver Mine. The specimen face is comprised of rhodochrosite rhombs that have excellent luster, are a well-saturated pinkish-red, and have very sharp edges and forms. The crystal rhombs have excellent luster and a very finely stepped habit. The color and luster of the crystals is excellent. The specimen is in excellent condition with no primary crystal damage and minor cleavage on the edges. There are transparent, facet-like quartz points interspersed in the rhodochrosite rhombs. A must-have for any collection.
The Uchucchacua mine has produced some of the finest quality Rhodochrosite specimens in the world.
