Description: A classic specimen from a classic location. A heavy specimen of native silver with well crystallized safflorite on matrix that displays well. The O’Brien Mine was the longest continuously operating mine in the Cobalt area (1905 to 1967). The mine consisted of five shafts, 16 miles of drifts, cross-cuts and raises. Large ore and waste rock dumps have produced spectacular specimens of native silver and arsenide minerals. 41 million oz of silver were extracted from this site.
